The Orthodox Christian Education Commission (OCEC)
is an agency of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the
Americas (SCOBA). It was founded in 1957 by a group of Orthodox theologians
and educators as a forum to exchange ideas and to search for solutions to
common educational problems. It currently aims to develop and publish
educational material for and offers support services to Orthodox
Christian Churches in North America.
Projects:
Funded the publication of "Teaching Pictures" to
correlate with text books in curriculum.
Funded research and planning for the development of an interactive CD-ROM on the Divine Liturgy for children.
