The Virginia H. Farah Foundation is a gift of faith and a gift of love. Father Nicholas Husson shared the divinely inspired values of the Orthodox Christian Church with his children and his parish families. Keenly aware of her many blessings, his daughter Virginia sought some way to share the faith imparted by her father with the rest of the world. The result of this desire became the Virginia H. Farah Foundation.
The Foundation was established in 1983 as a Texas not-for-profit corporation by Virginia Farah. Prior to her death in June 1991, she contributed to the Foundation on an annual basis, primarily funding scholarships at the University of Texas at El Paso. Upon her death, she endowed the Foundation through a testamentary gift in the desire to return to the world many of the blessings bestowed upon her during her life.
As the daughter of an Orthodox Christian priest, Virginia Farah wanted to better the world through the promotion of Orthodox Christian values taught to her by her father. Consequently, the purpose of the Foundation is to provide funds to nonprofit organizations to help them carry out unique and innovative projects in specific fields. The Foundation hopes these projects will help spread the Christian message while improving the quality of life on earth.
The Purpose of the Foundation
