St. John the Compassionate Mission

St. John the Compassionate Mission is an Apostolate of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox church of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, in cooperation with local Orthodox churches of Greater Toronto. Established in 1987, it is a ministry to the poor that serves over 2,000 meals per month. It operates an artisan bakery and a thrift store that provides the poor with job skills. Over 300 volunteers assist with the mission’s projects.

Provided funding to assist with the purchase of a building for the mission.
Provided funding to support St. John’s Academy, a free tutoring program that helps at-risk youth learn English and mathematics.
